Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina, World Food Prize laureate

Alumnus Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina is coming to Purdue fresh off a ceremony in Iowa in which he will have received the World Food Prize for his work as president of the African Development Bank Group. He will join President Mitch Daniels on stage to share his story of vision, diligence and principle in a world where food and water are becoming bigger issues every year. Don't Miss It!

OCTOBER 16

In a fireside chat titled "Food Security: Feeding the World in 2050," President Mitch Daniels will talk with Chris Policinski, president and CEO of Land O'Lakes Inc., and Sean Callahan, president and CEO of Catholic Relief Services, in celebration of World Food Day. The Purdue Varsity Glee Club will give its "Encore" performance at 6:30 p.m. on the steps of Hovde Hall. Music and fun team up once again. Free.

Purdue Theatre will present "The Sins of Sor Juana," an account of a remarkable real-life 17th century Mexican feminist who was a figure in the court of New Spain, then left to live in a convent and write.
