Crockpot cooking classes for Purdue faculty, staff and students

The Demonstration Kitchen at the Córdova Recreational Sports Center strives to make cooking accessible to everyone by demonstrating delicious recipes and menus that are quick, easy and affordable. New this fall, the kitchen will offer Crockpot Complete Meals for Four starting Friday (Sept. 8).

Menu and ingredients are provided. Participants take care of the prep work and leave with a meal for four in their crockpot. Participants without a crockpot can bring a container to take the meal with them to cook at home.

Crockpot Complete Meals for Four will be held 12:15-12:45 p.m. Fridays in the Demonstration Kitchen. The demonstration classes are open to all Purdue students, faculty and staff and their families. Membership at Recreation and Wellness ("the Co-Rec") is not required. The cost is $20 per person, and advance registration is necessary. The recipes to be featured are:

* Friday (Sept. 8): Easy Orange Chicken

* Sept. 22: Simple Asian Pork Roast

* Oct. 20: Cheesy Salsa Chicken

* Oct. 27: Savory Turkey Chili with Cornbread

* Nov. 10: Butternut Squash and Spinach Lasagna

* Dec. 1: Hearty Beef Stew
