Purdue Today’s “Thumbs Up” series gives faculty and staff members the opportunity to recognize, thank and congratulate others for their outstanding service, support and performance across the Purdue system. This week’s “Thumbs Up” recipients are:

Grounds staff members who collaborated on recent projects

A simple thumbs-up doesn’t even begin to express the dedication, teamwork and pride that have been on display over the last two weeks during projects at the Mathematical Sciences Building and Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. Teamwork accomplishes great things, and our department proved exactly that. I’m proud to work alongside people who don’t hesitate to lend a hand and support one another without being asked. That kind of teamwork isn’t something you can teach — it’s built on trust, respect and pride in what we do. Thank you to Brittany Jacobson, Ginger Unger, John Kaufman, Corey Alexander, Terry Mattos, Neptali Leon, Don Carr, Jason Kilgour, Brandon Gray, Peter Vaughn, Daniel Tocci, Jacob Adams, Adam Veach, Erin Sarafin, Mike Knowles and Jacob Henry for bringing your knowledge, skills and dedication together to make these spaces safer, cleaner and more beautiful. When we combine our talents, look out for each other and work toward a common purpose, there is very little we can’t achieve. — Nicole Begin (Grounds)

Loribeth Hettinger

Late on the night of June 27, we experienced an issue with the card readers in the elevators at the Honors College. Loribeth (ID Card Operations) responded immediately to the situation and worked tirelessly to diagnose and resolve the issue. Despite the challenges, Loribeth remained persistent and fully committed to restoring the system, ultimately getting it back up and running. Loribeth, thank you for your dedication and resilience. — Chris Skiba (Capital Projects)

Stephanie Lobato

Thumbs-up to Stephanie (Purdue for Life Foundation) for her thoughtful help on a behind-the-scenes, student‑focused project. Your kindness and collaboration made a meaningful difference. I’m also grateful for the strong partnership with our Purdue for Life colleagues. Moments like this show how much our teamwork benefits the entire campus community! Thank you, Stephanie! Also, shoutout to Tanya Finkbiner (Purdue for Life Foundation) for pointing me in the direction of Stephanie! — Katy Panozzo (Engineering)

Raze Bailey

Raze (Purdue Systems Security) is always helpful and an incredible resource but outdid himself when we encountered issues with temporary guest accounts for the GER2I Residential Camp attendees. The normal process to sync accounts wasn’t working, so students and teachers could not log on to our computer stations or the PAL Wi-Fi. Raze dropped what he was doing to work on another solution for the accounts and got all of them working within hours. To top it off, he then updated an internal knowledge base article as well. Thank you for all your help, Raze! — Theresa Morgan (IT End User Experience)
