Administrative professionals across campus
April 23 is Administrative Professionals Day. Thank you so much for all that you do for everyone. All of your hard work is greatly appreciated! — Katie May (Public Health)
Ashley Burgess and Holly Richardson
Very big thanks to Ashley and Holly (both IT Infrastructure Services) for all the support they have provided the Electronics Shop! With all the transitions and all the new equipment that is being put on the network, they have been a crucial part in helping us make things happen. With their ability to shift people around, support us at the drop of a hat and move things faster than expected, we have been able to successfully complete many tasks across the university. With their continued support, things tend to keep moving in the right direction, and with the enhancement of technology, things will only continue to grow. Thank you for all you do for us and the university! — Ian Anderson (Operations and Maintenance)
Innovative Learning team
Kudos to the Innovative Learning team for hosting workshops like AI Bytes and the Teaching & Learning Community of Practice. Thank you, Lindsay Hamm (Sociology), Karen Neubauer (Center for Instructional Excellence), Molly Kremer, Kate Kozikowski (both Purdue Online) and the many others who contribute to facilitating these discussions. Every month, they share something new about AI, student-supportive instructional practices or how to use Brightspace better. Thank you! — John Race (Office of Summer and Winter Sessions)
Those who helped recognize advisors
Thank you, Onyx Uzomah (Honors College), Tatyanna Jordan-Middleton (College of Education), Lydia Burrow (College of Science), Jen Fecher (College of Health and Human Sciences), Linda Gregory (Exploratory Studies), Mandy Marquardt and Tim Kerr (both College of Agriculture) for all of your work to make sure that advisors across campus are recognized for their hard work. I appreciate you all taking the time to help staff the table and encourage students to say thank you to their advisor! — Katie May (Public Health)
Laura Weisberger
Big thanks to Laura (Finance) for always answering our business questions with speed and professionalism. No one processes teaching contracts faster or more accurately. We appreciate you, Laura! — Exploratory Studies leadership team
Michael Davis
Earlier this month, two of my first-year students visited the Purdue Airport to learn about the culture of Purdue’s aviation program. During their exploration, they spontaneously stopped by Michael’s (School of Aviation and Transportation Technology) office. He very generously spent over an hour giving them insights into what makes Purdue’s program one of the premier aviation programs in the United States. They came away inspired to adopt the values of discipline and bravery shown by the many aviators who have trained or taught at Purdue over nearly a century. — Joseph Sorell (Purdue Language and Cultural Exchange)
Nicole Towner and First-Year Engineering Operations team
When the Disability Resource Center needed to ensure classroom furniture was accessible for a student, not only did Nicole (Engineering Education) get in touch within an hour — she’d already come up with a great solution that could be deployed with help from the FYE Operations team. Thank you to Nicole, Angela Hoover, Lauren Seymour and Sharita Ware (all Engineering Education)! — Jossette Bailey (Disability Resource Center)
Ashleigh-Briane Stingley
I just wanted to send a big thank-you to Ashleigh-Briane (Parking Facilities) for all her help with the parking passes. I truly appreciate the way you consistently go above and beyond, especially when it comes to helping me secure passes for our guest lecturers. Your support genuinely makes a difference in my day-to-day tasks, and I’m so grateful for your responsiveness and willingness to help. Thank you! — Melissa Schwartz (Chemical Engineering)
Susan Grasham, Vince Baier and the Puentes Project team
Thank you so much, Susan, Vince (both Public Health) and the Puentes Project team for all of your help with the Introducing Purdue lab tours! — Katie May (Public Health)
Tony Hayden
Tony (IT End User Experience) is an amazing resource for Purdue Testing Services and the campus community. Our office provides several types of vendor-based exams which require maintenance with updates, often leading to tech problems. We are grateful for his willingness to troubleshoot all of our technology issues with a smile, despite the complicated nature of the task! — Maddie Kintner (Testing Center)
Jackie Perkins
I’d like to give a big Thumbs Up to Jackie (Student Life Marketing) for her outstanding support and collaboration with our marketing and communications team at Purdue for Life Foundation. Jackie played a key role in helping us gain approval for distribution of Purdue Day of Giving After Dark posters at residence halls. I can’t thank her enough for her responsiveness, professionalism and clear communication. Her partnership helped us extend the reach of this special late-night celebration. The event features free food, glow gear, music, games and a $10,000 scholarship contest — all designed to celebrate Purdue students as a powerful force behind the university’s success. Thanks to Jackie’s efforts, we’re better positioned to engage students and make this year’s Purdue Day of Giving After Dark an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Jackie, for your help in connecting with this audience! — Kaitlin McQueen (Purdue for Life Foundation)
Nathan Pillion
My combination monitor/docking station in my cubicle was malfunctioning, causing my internet connection and a couple of my monitors to intermittently stop working. It was interrupting my computer work and Microsoft Teams calls and meetings several times per day. Nathan (IT End User Experience) worked on the issue quite promptly and thoroughly, ultimately replacing my combination monitor/docking station with a loaner one until a new one was received. The new one was received and installed a day later. Thank you so much, Nathan! — Casey Hartmann (Energy and Utilities)
