Purdue innovation showcased at 2025 Consumer Electronics Show

Purdue has brought its strengths in semiconductors, artificial intelligence and other innovative areas to this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Known as CES, the annual expo is considered the world’s largest showcase of the latest consumer electronics.
Purdue’s presence also includes its expertise in industry partnerships and entrepreneurship. From a booth at CES, Purdue Strategic Ventures, the Purdue Innovates Office of Technology Commercialization, and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation are networking with existing partners, exploring new partnerships through research and licensing, and learning about new technologies and companies.
Demonstrations of innovations at CES from Purdue professors include federally funded semiconductor research by Tiwei Wei and low-power wearable AI devices developed by Shreyas Sen and a startup he co-founded, Ixana.
In addition to Ixana, other companies led by Purdue alumni and backed by the Purdue Research Foundation are at CES. These companies are Anello and Wave Therapeutics.
Purdue students will participate at CES by demonstrating their skills in autonomous racing. Purdue AI Racing is one of several teams competing Jan. 9 in the Indy Autonomous Challenge at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. For the first time, Purdue AI Racing will compete in Tier 2, which is a two-car passing competition.
The university’s presence at CES in the areas of semiconductors and AI align with the Purdue Computes initiative, designed to advance Purdue to the forefront of these fields with unparalleled excellence at scale.
