The Center for Healthy Living (CHL) is again offering its six-week Healthy Boiler wellness program called “Heart Knowledge” in support of the physical health pillar of the Healthy Boiler Program. The program — designed for individuals with high blood pressure — meets on Wednesdays from April 24-May 29 at 3-4 p.m. ET.

Lindsay Bloom, a health coach at the CHL in Purdue Fort Wayne, and Megan Shidler, a registered dietitian at the CHL in West Lafayette, will present the program, which includes weekly Zoom meetings and one-on-one health coaching sessions. The coaching sessions will be scheduled with participants prior to the program’s start date, at the midpoint and at the conclusion of the program.

Learning to track blood pressure is an important part of the program, and eligible participants will receive a blood pressure cuff.

Those interested in attending should register today (April 17) via the Healthy Boiler Portal. The registration link can be found under the “Healthy Boiler Workshops” section on the portal’s homepage. Hover over “Heart Knowledge” and hit “Submit” to register.

Healthy Boiler workshops are free to all benefits-eligible faculty, staff and dependents.
