New system for Purdue Libraries will streamline workflows, improve analytics
May 16, 2013
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University Libraries has helped develop and launch a new library management system to improve workflow effectiveness and improve collection analysis.
The Alma replaces Voyager and SFX and includes functions associated with an integrated library system and electronic resources management system. Purdue Libraries co-developed Alma with Ex Libris, Princeton University, Boston College and the University of Leuven in Belgium and is one of the early institutions to adopt the system.
The benefits of Alma will include:
* Streamlined workflows resulting in efficient and effective processes.
* Elimination of silos between print and electronic resources
* Improved collection analysis through Alma Analytics and Oracle Business Intelligence
Many Purdue Libraries faculty and staff have been involved in the planning and implementation of Alma over the last few years to ensure a successful launch.
Further information regarding the system's key features will be communicated in the coming weeks.
