Purdue Global Law School to host entertainment lawyer Ryan Nord

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue Global Law School will host “The Changing Landscape of Entertainment Law” on Sept. 26 for the next installment of its Distinguished Speaker Series. The live webinar, which is scheduled for 3 p.m. Eastern/noon Pacific, will be hosted by Martin Pritikin, dean and vice president of Purdue Global Law School, and will feature guest speaker Ryan Nord, an entertainment lawyer who has spent more than two decades representing both talent and studios in Hollywood.

“Entertainment law is such an exciting and rapidly changing field,” Pritikin said. “It is really a fusion of intellectual property law, labor law, contract law and other areas, and is even wrestling with cutting-edge issues like the impact of artificial intelligence. I’m excited that the audience will have the opportunity to hear from Ryan Nord. Many entertainment lawyers have experience representing either talent or studios, but not both.”

During the discussion with Pritikin, Nord will share his perspective on how shows and movies really get made. He will also dive into how COVID-19, the writer’s strike, AI and other recent developments have upended the industry.

California-licensed attorneys can receive 1 CA General Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) credit for attending this webinar.

Registration for this event is free and required. To register, click here. After the live event, the webinar will be available for viewing on the law school’s YouTube page.
