Purdue Child Care Tuition Assistance Program

The Purdue Child Care Tuition Assistance Program was created to make quality child care more affordable for Purdue faculty, staff and graduate students. Funds for these scholarships are provided through the Patty Jischke Child Care Endowment and Purdue University.

Eligibility and Criteria to apply

To apply for a child care assistance scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Families with at least one child enrolled at a Purdue Child Care Center located on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus, OR
  • Benefit eligible faculty or staff who have child(ren) currently enrolled in a level 3 or level 4 Paths to QUALITY facility, or state equivalent. Only families who have child(ren) currently enrolled in a level 3 or level 4 Paths to QUALITY™ facility (or equivalent), are eligible to apply for that child(ren). You can apply for the scholarship for all children currently enrolled in a level 3 or level 4 Paths to QUALITY™ facility or equivalent, AND
  • Spend or anticipate spending at least 12 percent of your family's combined annual salary on child care.
    • If you currently spend less than 12 percent of your family's combined annual salary on child care, but feel strongly about your financial situation, you can still complete an application.
Scholarship value

The value of the scholarship may cover up to 50 percent of the family’s annual child care costs. The total amount of funds available will depend on the number of applicants and financial need of those who apply.

2026 scholarship term

The scholarship is a one-time payment to be applied towards 2026 childcare tuition expenses.

Scholarships are not awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The same opportunity and criteria are applied to all applicants.

    • Last year's federal income tax form 1040 OR
    • Last year's federal income tax form 1042s plus W2
  • Employment Status - Disabled ONLY:
    • Upload signed and dated certification from provider, on letterhead, documenting disability
  • Postdoctoral Associate or Fellow ONLY:
    • Include a copy of your appointment letter and documentation of any sources of funding

FAFSA Form or Equivalent - GRADUATE or UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS ONLY

For consideration, a parent/guardian must complete a free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine financial need. It is required for all students seeking federal student grants, work-study programs and loans. The FAFSA may also qualify you for state-sponsored financial aid.
