Training on Youth Safety

Program Staff Training

The Operating Procedures for Programs Involving Minors require all program staff to complete training on youth safety and the requirements for mandatory reporting in Indiana.  Youth safety training must include information about appropriate interactions and communication, bullying intervention, and prohibited conduct.

Program Director Training

Individuals who will serve as a Program Director must complete training on leading youth programs. This training is in addition to the training required for Program Staff. Program Director Training must address adequate screening of staff and volunteers, recognition of signs of predatory behavior, strategies for preventing child sexual abuse, and age appropriate staffing ratios.
