Research Overview

Discovery Park is where disciplines converge to solve global grand challenges. Growing populations, rising cost of
healthcare, rising demand for energy, food, water are some of the challenges Discovery Park is working to solve.
Discovery Park is leveraging Purdue’s strengths to advance research in two strategic grand challenge areas: Impacting
global health; and Solving global challenges at the nexus of energy, food, water and the environment.

Cross Cutting Centers located within Discovery Park enable researchers from across disciplines to integrate
their strengths to solve global challenges. Outcomes from these centers can lead to new discoveries and innovation.

Centers supporting the Global Health strategic theme work together by focusing on two areas of Global Health:
The Science of Disease, and Digital Health. These centers bring specialized research in the areas of immunology
and infectious disease, neurobiology and drug discovery.

Centers supporting the Global Challenges at the Nexus of Energy, Food, Water and the Environment
strategic theme have three focus areas: Energy and Resources, Science of Climate and Resilience and Food
and Nutrition Security. These centers bring specialized research in the areas of food security, environment, energy,
and climate change.
