The Nexus Air Quality project will be hosting a symposium at the Universidad Nacional de San Augustin (UNSA) in Arequipa, Peru, to discuss the results of on-going research between Purdue and UNSA collaborators. Dr. Greg Michalski, a professor in Purdue’s Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences (EAPS) and the project’s Purdue principal investigator, and Dr. Elizabeth Olson, a postdoctoral research associate in EAPS, will share the latest findings from their project with UNSA faculty and students. Additionally, Adrianna Larrea, professor from UNSA chemistry department, will be presenting at the symposium. This event includes five presentations that will cover new research developments in air quality in Arequipa, including precipitation and water isotopes, rain collection, education and outreach, tracing dry deposition using sulfur isotopes, tracing dry deposition using metal concentrations, and plans to study air quality in coastal fog.
