More students than ever participating in Purdue professional practice programs

The Purdue Office of Professional Practice (OPP) continues to attract student participants, with an overall participation increase of 62% since 2010.
OPP manages programs that span 48 different disciplines in eight colleges, with the Colleges of Engineering and Technology having the highest student involvement.
"As Purdue considers a move toward a trimester format for the entire campus within the next few years, Purdue co-op students have been successfully using the system ever since the co-op program was established back in 1964," said Eckhard Groll, Reilly Professor of Mechanical Engineering and OPP director.
Although the number of active Professional Practice employers has remained fairly consistent, more employers are needed to increase the number of programs OPP can offer.
