Video
By bringing together the multidimensionality of voice, visuals and music, video can tell a story like no other type of content. Use these resources to keep your videos in brand and optimized.
B-Roll Galleries
From campus scenes to in-classroom and research footage, we offer a regularly updated library of b-roll for the public and campus partners. B-roll is available through galleries in PhotoShelter and Vimeo. You must be logged in to each platform to view and download footage from these galleries.
Video Accessibility
Video is a key storytelling tool for Purdue, and accessibility ensures it can reach everyone. Beyond meeting federal requirements, accessible video broadens reach and supports equal access. The guide below outlines the accessibility components Purdue marketers need for various types of videos.
Video Guidelines
By using common graphic elements for lower thirds, outros and captions, we ensure all our video content across the University is in brand and cohesive. Specific guidance for each element can be found in the Brand Guidelines.

Captions Guidance
All campus partners producing public-facing video media must ensure the content is accessible to the deaf and hearing-impaired with accurate captions, as required by law and University policy.
Video Release Forms
In most cases, a release is not required for photo and video shoots on campus in a setting where consent is implied. However, if shooting in an environment where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy, you should be familiar with the Release Guidelines.
Scouting a Location
When selecting a location for video or photography, many factors need to be considered. Purdue Brand Studio’s reference sheet and location scouting guide can help you plan your project. An editable version of the reference sheet is available in Marq by request.
