If you’ve been to #Purdue recently you’ve probably noticed the State Street Redevelopment Project.  Most of #StateStreet and many surrounding streets will be closed this summer for construction as the whole area is redone, and we look forward to seeing the finished product in the fall.  This isn’t the first time State Street's appearance has changed.  Quite a few changes have happened since this photograph was taken in the 1920s, looking down the hill toward River Road and Lafayette.  Can you spot the differences? #WestLafayette #purduearchives
William Mixon being congratulated at his front-door by Purdue Admissions and Purdue Pete

Surprise, surprise

Talk about an unexpected moment — William Mixon learned he had been admitted to Purdue in quite an unusual way.

Purdue officials, cheerleaders, students, the Boilermaker Special and Purdue Pete traveled to Mixon’s Indianapolis-area home to surprise him with the news of his admission to the University.

Mixon was excited to learn he had been admitted to the College of Engineering’s first-year engineering program.

Purdue offers rolling admissions, meaning that after students complete their applications, they can expect to receive an admissions decision in eight to 12 weeks.
