Scheduled Electrical Shutdowns
- June 21, 2008, Mechanical Engineering, SSA-1, RAIL, and ENAD: The electrical service to ME, SSA-1, RAIL, and ENAD will be shutdown on Saturday, June 21 2008, at 5:30am for approximately 1 hour. The power to ME East will not be restored for 6-8 hours. This shutdown is required to change out the east transformer and switch at ME.
- May 23, 2008, Stewart & Hicks: The electrical service to STEW and HIKS will be shutdown on Friday, May 23, 2008, at 5:30 p.m. and last 3-6 hours. This shutdown is required to make the transition back to normal power from the temporary substations. COMPLETE.
- May 13, 2008, Wetherill: The electrical service to WTHR will be shutdown on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at 6:15 p.m. and will be off for 3-6 hours. This shutdown is required to hook up the temporary substations. COMPLETE.

December 27, Stewart: The electrical service to STEW will be shutdown on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. for three to six hours. This shutdown will
allow crews to connect Stewart Center's electrical system to the mobile substations, which will keep the building powered for the duration of the project while the high voltage vault is deactivated. COMPLETE.

December 20, GRIS & MGL: The electrical service to GRIS and MGL will be shutdown on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. for three to four hours for GRIS and one hour for MGL. This shutdown will enable crews to disconnect the mobile substations and restore permanent power to GRIS. COMPLETE.

December 18, NUCL: The electrical service to NUCL will be shutdown on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. for three to four hours. This shutdown will enable crews to disconnect the mobile substations and restore permanent power to NUCL. COMPLETE.

October 9, GRIS, NUCL, MGL: The electrical service to GRIS, NUCL, and MGL will be shutdown on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. for two to four hours. (MGL may not be off as long as NUCL and GRIS.) This shutdown will enable crews to connect the buildings to the mobile substations, which will be used for the duration of the High Voltage upgrades at NUCL and GRIS. COMPLETE.
- October 3, PRCE, CL50: An electrical shutdown has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 3, 2007, beginning at 9:45 p.m. at PRCE and Class of 1950. The shutdown will allow crews to restore permanent power to PRCE, and will last approximately 2-4 hours. COMPLETE.
September 27, October 1, SC: An electrical shutdown has been scheduled for Thursday, September 27, 2007, beginning at 9:15 p.m at Stanley Coulter. The shutdown will allow crews to restore permanent power to SC, and will last approximately 1 hour. Rescheduled for Monday, October 1 at 9:45 p.m. COMPLETE.
- August 14, PRCE, SC, CL50: An electrical shutdown has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 14, 2007, beginning at 6 p.m. Peirce, Stanley Coulter, and Class of 1950 will be affected. This shutdown will enable crews to connect the mobile substations to the building for the duration of the High Voltage upgrades. The shutdown is expected to last approximately 2 hours. COMPLETE.
- August 10, Duncan Annex: A temporary shutdown has been scheduled for the morning of Friday, August 10, 2007, beginning at 5 a.m. This will enable crews to restore permanent power to the building. The shutdown is expected to last for 5-6 hours. COMPLETE.
- August 9, Shealy, Duhme, and Wood Halls: A temporary shutdown has been scheduled for Thursday, August 9, 2007, beginning at 5 p.m. This shutdown will last one hour. COMPLETE.
- August 8: A temporary electrical shutdown has been scheduled for tonight, Wednesday, August 8, 2007, beginning at 5 p.m. This shutdown will enable crews to restore permanent power to HEAV. The shutdown is expected to last five to six hours. COMPLETE.
- August 3, POTR and HOVD: A temporary electrical shutdown has been scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, August 3, 2007. This shutdown will enable crews to restore permanent power to POTR.
COMPLETE.
- The electrical service at POTR will be shut off at 6:30 p.m., for approximately 3 hours.
- The electrical service at HOVD will be shut off at 7:30 p.m., for approximately 1 hour.
- August 3, Meredith, Fowler, Shealy, Duhme, and Wood Halls: A temporary electrical shutdown has been scheduled for Friday, August 3, 2007, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This shutdown will enable crews to change out a feeder to MRDH and FWLR .
COMPLETE.
- The power to WOOD, DUHM, & SHLY will be off for approximately 30 minutes.
- The power to MRDH and FWLR will be off for 4-6 hours.
- July 3, Meredith, Fowler, Shealy, Duhme, and Wood Halls: A temporary electrical shutdown has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 3, at 5 p.m. It is expected to last two hours. This shutdown will enable crews to cut and cap existing cables, and reconnect a feeder. COMPLETE.
- July 3, EE: A temporary electrical shutdown has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 3, 2007, beginning at 6 a.m. This will allow crews to connect the new electrical equipment in the EE vault to the permanent power supply. The shutdown is expected to be completed by 7 a.m. COMPLETE.
- June 28, POTR: A temporary electrical shutdown has been scheduled for Thursday, June 28, 2007 beginning at 5 p.m. This will allow crews to reconnect Potter's electrical feed so that they may safely perform upgrades in Manhole 19-1. The shutdown is expected to last 3-4 hours. COMPLETE.
- May 17, EE & Duncan Annex : The electrical service to EE and Duncan Annex will be shutdown on Thursday, May 17, 2007, at 6 p.m. The service to EE should only be down less than one hour, and the service to Duncan Annex will be down for up to 3 hours. This is required to hook up a portable substation to the building. COMPLETE.
- May 14, HEAV: An electrical shutdown at Heavilon is scheduled for Monday, May 14, 2007, from 6 p.m. to approximately 8 p.m. This shutdown will enable crews to install the mobile substation to feed HEAV during the high voltage project. This shutdown will include a feeder that affects all of STEW and WTHR for approximately 15 minutes beginning at 6 p.m. COMPLETE.
- April 29, Stone: The final electrical shutdown at Stone Hall is scheduled for Sunday, April 29, 2007 beginning at 5 a.m. The shutdown will last about two hours. This is required to remove the mobile substation and restore permanent power to the building. This shutdown will also include the feeder that affects SERV, SEAN, ABE, SMTH, and the Satellite Farm for approximately 15 minutes between 5 and 5:30 a.m. COMPLETE.
- April 19, Matthews: The final electrical shutdown at Matthews is scheduled for Thursday, April 19, 2007 beginning at 5 a.m. This will enable crews to switch the electrical system from the mobile substations to the new transformers powered by the 12.47 kV supply.The shutdown is expected to last 2 hours. COMPLETE.
- January 21, Matthews: An electrical shutdown will begin at 8:30 a.m. This shutdown will include the feeder that affects Stanley Coulter, Class of 1950, and Peirce Halls as well as Matthews. SC, CL50, and PRCE will have power restored in approximately 45 minutes. The MTHW shutdown will last 3-4 hours. During the shutdown, crews will connect MTHW to the mobile substations. COMPLETE.
- January 21, Stone: An electrical shutdown will begin at 7:30 a.m. The STON shutdown will last 3-4 hours. During the shutdown, crews will connect STON to the mobile substations
This shutdown will affect a feeder requiring a brief shutdown of SEAN, SERV, ABE, RES Halls Dishes, WBAA & Educational Dishes, and SMTH. All buildings except for Stone will have power restored in approximately 30 minutes. At the end of the shutdown, SEAN, SERV, ABE, RES Halls Dishes, WBAA & Educational Dishes, and SMTH will experience another brief shutdown, lasting approximately 30 minutes. COMPLETE.
- January 13, Armory: The final electrical shutdown at Armory is scheduled for Saturday, January 13, 2007 beginning at 6 a.m. This will enable crews to switch the electrical system from the mobile substations to the new transformers powered by the 12.47 kV supply. COMPLETE.
- January 9, Elliott: An electrical shutdown is projected to take place on the evening of Tuesday, January 9, 2007 beginning at 6 p.m. to disconnect the mobile substations, and connect ELLT's new transformers to the permanent 12.47-kV power supply. COMPLETE.
- October 20, ELLT/Armory: The electrical service at ELLTwill be shutdown for approximately 2-3 hours beginning at 8 p.m. to connect ELLT to the mobile substations. Also, the Armory electrical service will be shutdown at 8 p.m., during the first hour of the ELLT shutdown, to isolate Feeder #4 cables between the buildings. COMPLETE.
- October 14, ELLT: CANCELED.
- October 9, ARMORY: An electrical shutdown has been scheduled for 5 p.m. to connect the mobile substations. The shutdown will last for approximately 3-4 hours. COMPLETE.
- October 9, PMU : An electrical shutdown has been scheduled for 2 p.m., to tie some electrical distribution panels into PMU's new electrical system. The shutdown will last for approximately 5-8 hours. Only certain systems will be affected by this shutdown. COMPLETE.
- September 20, LAMB: An electrical shutdown is scheduled to take place on the evening of Wednesday, September 20, 2006 beginning at 9 p.m. and lasting for 3-4 hours. This shutdown will enable the mobile substations to be disconnected, and the new electrical equipment in the vault to be connected to the permanent 12.47-kV power supply. COMPLETE.
- August 11, Hovde: An electrical shutdown is projected to take place on the evening of Friday, August 11, 2006 beginning at 6 p.m. to disconnect the mobile substations, and connect Hovde's new transformers to the permanent 12.47-kV power supply. COMPLETE.
- July 28 & 30: The power to KNOY and three-phase power to MGL will be shutdown Friday, July 28, 2006, from 5 p.m. to approximately 7 p.m. while the buildings are hooked up to temporary generators. While the generators are in use, crews will be able to set electrical switches in the new manholes. On Sunday, July 30, 2006, the power to the buildings will again be shutdown at appoximately 12 p.m. while they are taken off the generators, with permanent power restored by aproximately 2 p.m. COMPLETE.
- July 14-16: Electrical Power at Potter Hall will be shutdown beginning 5 p.m. Friday, July 14 through Sunday, July 16. This shutdown will enable replacement of electrical switches in Manhole 19. POTR will be connected to generators for power supply throughout the weekend. COMPLETE.
- July 14-17:
EE, Duncan Annex, ME, MSEE, POTR, MGL, and SSAA : A chilled water shutdown is schedule this weekend, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 14 until approximately 8 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2006. This shutdown will enable crews to install new valves. This shutdown is timed for the weekend to cause the least inconvenience to building occupants. If any changes to this schedule are necessary, you will be notified immediately. COMPLETE.
- July 14: The electrical service to POTR will be shutdown at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2006, for approximately one hour while generators are hooked up to the building. The building will be on temporary generator feed until approx 12 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2006, when the power will be turned off again for approximately one hour while the permanent service is restored. COMPLETE.
- June 27-29: Telephone Building, when Manhole 13-1 at Founders Park is shutdown in order to install new equipment, as part of the Ductbank Project. Generators will supply power so that campus telephone systems remain operational. COMPLETE.
- June 1, 5 p.m. to midnight: Hovde Hall, Schleman Hall, CA3, and Forney Hall. COMPLETE.
- May 23: Lambert Fieldhouse COMPLETE.
