Transportation fleet sale underway

A sale of vehicles from Purdue's transportation fleet has begun and will continue through April 29. Twenty 2011 and 2012 Chevrolet Impalas are in the sale, which includes special Saturday hours on April 25.
The fleet sale is at the Purdue University Surplus Store, 3601 Sagamore Parkway North, Suite K, Lafayette. Entry is from North Ninth Street just north of Sagamore. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, plus a Saturday special sale day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 25.
The 2011 models are for sale at $8,000. The 2012 models are priced at $9,000. Payment can be by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover.
The surplus store does not collect Indiana sales tax on these sales, and it is the responsibility of the purchaser to pay the sales tax when registering the vehicle. The title is mailed five to 10 business days after the purchase.
