Office for Research and Partnerships announces administrative changes

November 20, 2014

The Office for Research and Partnerships has made some administrative changes to align more closely with strategic objectives.

Marietta Harrison has a new position as special adviser for strategic initiatives in the Office for Research and Partnerships. In this half-time appointment, which was effective Nov. 1, Harrison is principally responsible for newly instituted research funding programs, including NIH-targeted initiatives and EVPRP’s equipment program (in tandem with Jeff Bolin, associate vice president for research development). She also oversees STAR Metrics and UMetrics initiatives, serves as the Federal Demonstration Partnership representative and coordinates emerging life sciences efforts and initiatives.

Harrison, who previously was associate vice president for research stewardship and internal programs in the EVPRP, will continue serving as director of Discovery Park’s Oncological Sciences Center.

Jeffrey Bolin, who has been serving part time as associate vice president for research development since 2009, now has a full-time appointment effective Nov. 1 in the Office for Research and Partnerships. Bolin’s principal responsibilities include oversight and administrative supervision of Research Development Services; management of non-Discovery Park research space; and oversight of the University’s Research Cores, non-Discovery Park centers and institutes, and PRF grant programs. Bolin also provides strategic leadership on all University research cores, centers and initiatives.
