Sandel appointed senior director of Sponsored Program Services

Ken Sandel, recently the director of physical and capital planning, has assumed the role of senior director of Sponsored Program Services.
In this position, Sandel will report to William E. Sullivan, treasurer and chief financial officer, and will work closely and collaboratively with Suresh Garimella, executive vice president for research and partnerships, and his office.
As senior director, Sandel will provide leadership and set the direction for the University's sponsored programs function, ensuring effective and timely research support for faculty, staff, students and external partners. The SPS office has responsibility for proposals, pre- and post-award management, data access and support services, and contract negotiation, and also assists with research administration and regulatory compliance.
With this change, the Office of Physical and Capital Planning now will be housed organizationally under the Office of the Vice President for Physical Facilities.
