Co-Rec offering Youth Climbing Clinic, Parents' Night Out

The Division of Recreational Sports is offering youth and family programs for fall -- Youth Climbing Clinic and Parents' Night Out -- and they begin this weekend (Sept. 12 and 13).

These events will be at the Córdova Recreational Sports Center. For more information, go to www.purdue.edu/recsports and select the "Youth & Family" tab, or contact Kimberly Jamriska, DRS' assistant director of youth, family, and special event programming, at kjamrisk@purdue.edu or 49-61796.

Youth Climbing Clinic

The Youth Climbing Clinic is a great opportunity to introduce children to rock climbing and bouldering. Children will be challenged both physically and mentally while learning a new skill in a fun and encouraging environment.

Program dates (Saturdays)
* Sept. 13 (Registration begins Sept. 1)
* Oct. 18 (Registration begins Oct. 6)
* Nov. 22 (Registration begins Nov. 3)

Times
* 11 a.m.-1 p.m. (ages 7-9)
* 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. (ages 10-12)

Cost: DRS member, $7; nonmember, $12

Parents’ Night Out

While the parents are away, the kids will play at the Co-Rec. Children will cook in the demonstration kitchen, make crafts, and play fun activities during the course of the evening. These special events are available to children ages 5 to 12.

Program dates (Fridays)
* Sept. 12 (Registration begins Sept. 1)
* Oct. 17 (Registration begins Oct. 6)
* Nov. 7 (Registration begins Oct. 27)

Time: 6-9 p.m.

Cost: DRS member, $10.50; nonmember, $15
