Planned power outage at Northwestern Avenue Parking Garage on Tuesday

April 21, 2014

A planned power outage will affect the Northwestern Avenue Parking Garage on Tuesday morning (April 22). The power lines that service the parking garage are in need of repair, and pedestrians should be aware that this brief outage has the potential to affect the elevator and lighting within the parking garage.

Power will be completely shut down for a few minutes between 8 and 8:30 a.m. in order to switch to generator power. Once generator power is running, the garage lighting and elevators will be powered in this manner until the power line repair is complete, which is expected to be approximately 4 p.m. Upon completion of the repair, there will be another complete power shut down for a few minutes while the power source is switched back from the generator.

Pedestrians should be cautious in the parking garage during the two brief complete power shutdowns as most of the lighting may be off.
