Employees encouraged to avoid Grant Street Garage during STAR

June 12, 2014

Parking Facilities would like to remind employees that the Grant Street Garage is expected to be crowded with visitors beginning Monday (June 16) due to ongoing maintenance work and the beginning of STAR.

Employees who normally park in the Grant garage are encouraged to park in other garages on campus while STAR is in session. STAR, or Summer Transition Advising and Registration, takes place every weekday until July 11.

Entering students and their families typically arrive on campus each morning at 7-8 a.m. In addition to the increase in visitors due to STAR, the Grant garage also will be crowded because half of it is closed due to ongoing maintenance.

As an alternative to parking in other garages, ample parking also is available to employees in the Discovery Park lot on the southwest corner of the roundabout on Martin Jischke Drive. Bus service is available every 10 minutes from this lot on the 19 Inner Loop CityBus route.

Anyone with questions should contact Holly Alexander, parking facilities manager, at haalexander@purdue.edu or 49-49315.
