Title IX: Sexual Harassment & Sexual Misconduct
Title IX is a federal law that requires Universities to provide an environment free from sexual or gender-based harassment and discrimination for all members of the university community. Purdue University is committed to providing support to those who may have been impacted by incidents of sexual or gender-based harassment or misconduct and may provide various resources and support services to individuals who have experienced one of these incidents. This website provides information on what to do if you or someone you know may have been impacted by any of these behaviors.
Title IX Coordinator
Each Purdue campus has a designated Title IX Coordinator. Purdue’s Title IX Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the University’s compliance with Title IX, including overseeing all complaints of sex discrimination, including sexual harassment and sexual violence, and identifying and addressing any patterns or systemic problems that arise during the review of such complaints.
Mandatory Reporters
Mandatory reporters are required to report incidents they have personally observed as well as incidents reported to them.
Supportive Measures
The Title IX Coordinator can assist students in arranging on-campus support with faculty members, housing staff, or other units. Students may contact the Title IX office directly to request assistance. Students who wish to speak to discuss options with an advocate before contacting the Title IX office may contact professional staff from CARE.
Title IX Pregnancy & Parenting Guidance
Purdue University provides pregnancy accommodations in compliance with Title IX and other federal and state laws. These accommodations are designed to support pregnant and parenting students, as well as faculty and staff.
