Faculty and staff encouraged to provide feedback for classroom master plan

All faculty, staff and students on the West Lafayette campus are invited to attend an open house designed to collect input for the campuswide classroom master plan. Participants will share ideas regarding classroom design, study needs and teaching and learning preferences. The open house is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday (March 9) in Stewart Center's west lobby.

The new episode of "This Is Purdue" focuses on Purdue alumnus Scott Niswonger, founder of Landair Transport Inc., Forward Air Corp. and the Niswonger Foundation. Niswonger embodies Boilermaker spirit and innovation — whether it's creating jobs and employing more than 9,000 people in a rural area of Tennessee or changing high school students’ lives with the Niswonger Foundation. Listen in to hear how Purdue’s unique flight curriculum propelled Niswonger to where he is now and why giving back and investing in his community has been rewarding beyond measure.

Harry ‘Snowy’ Clark became athletic training pioneer at Purdue

Hired as the Boilermakers’ first Black athletic trainer, Harry “Snowy” Clark brought creativity and stability to the emerging athletics programs in the early 1900s. Clark’s legacy of care and innovative treatments devised while caring for Purdue athletes made him a pioneer in the field of athletic training and established his name as a trailblazing part of University history.

Staff at Purdue’s Academic Success Center regularly hear about students’ struggles with impostor syndrome and finding connection with their peers, but these challenges seemed to intensify during the pandemic. To help support students, the ASC created the student accountability groups program to promote peer connection, accountability and skill development.

Award honors Low for fight to beat cancer, save lives

Purdue’s Philip Low continues to be celebrated for his lifesaving drug discovery work in fighting cancer. Low, the Presidential Scholar for Drug Discovery and the Ralph C. Corley Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, has won the Gustavus John Esselen Award for Chemistry in the Public Interest, presented by the Northeastern Section of the American Chemical Society.
