Notice of Degree

The Office of Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars (OGSPS) oversees a remonstrance for new graduate proposals called the notice of degree (NOD) process. The NOD process encourages an active review of new degree ideas to mitigate potential concern or overlap with campus proposals and reduce the likelihood of delays or stoppage for proposals in the later stages of the review process.

Colleges should complete the NOD survey before completing most of the work on a new degree proposal. For PNW and PFW submitters, please contact your respective Academic Affairs/Programs and Graduate Studies Director in advance of the submission; they should both be copied on all communication with the OGSPS and PWL.
