Teaching and Learning Giving Priorities

This year’s giving priorities in Teaching and Learning align closely with Purdue’s $4 billion “Victories & Heroes” capital campaign, which celebrates both the bold achievements of our students and the everyday heroism of those who help them succeed.

We invite you to support initiatives that open doors to undergraduate research, recognize the vital contributions of academic advisors, and help driven graduates of Purdue Polytechnic High Schools continue their journey as Boilermakers. These opportunities reflect the heart of the campaign — empowering students to achieve life-changing victories, and honoring the heroes who support them along the way.

Advancing Victories & Heroes through Student Support, Research, and Access

Fuel Student Victories through Undergraduate Research

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) connects students with transformative learning experiences — from contributing to faculty-led discovery across every discipline to presenting at national conferences and publishing papers.

Your gift will:

  • Expand access to high-impact research experiences for students across all majors
  • Provide project support to students with limited prior access to research opportunities
  • Help first-generation students and others share their work at national and international events

Campaign Connection: Supporting OUR directly advances the Victories theme by equipping students to make their first breakthroughs as scholars and innovators. Many student-led projects intersect with larger campaign initiatives such as Purdue Computes and One Health.

Honoring the Heroic Work of Academic Advisors

Academic advisors are often the first point of connection for students — helping them navigate complex decisions, build academic confidence, and stay on track toward graduation. They are mentors, motivators, and advocates.

Your gift can:

  • Help us empower the people who empower students. Funding support for advisor development directly shapes student journeys and success.
  • Establish named advising positions to recognize exceptional contributions
  • Create a named annual award celebrating an outstanding advisor each year

Campaign Connection: This initiative brings the Heroes theme to life by uplifting the dedicated professionals who quietly shape countless student journeys. Named gifts offer meaningful, lasting recognition for their essential role in Purdue’s success.

Open Doors for Purdue Polytechnic High School Graduates

Purdue Polytechnic High Schools were built to reimagine college preparation — blending innovation, rigor, and mentorship to prepare students for success at Purdue and beyond. Your support will help these talented students take their next step as Boilermakers.

Your gift will:

  • Fund scholarships for PPHS graduates who enroll at Purdue
  • Expand access to Purdue for students who may be the first in their families to attend college
  • Support students whose potential has been nurtured through a bold, hands-on high school model

Campaign Connection: This opportunity reflects the campaign’s vision of building momentum for student victories — especially for those whose path to Purdue reflects determination, adaptability, and deep promise.
