Purdue, Rolls-Royce sign 10-year, $75 million strategic alliance agreement
May 25, 2022 — Purdue University and Rolls-Royce officials have signed a research and testing agreement that will bring $75 million over 10 years; the investment will be focused primarily at Purdue’s Zucrow Laboratories, the largest academic propulsion laboratory in the world.

Purdue alumnus named general manager for Saab’s aerospace site in Discovery Park District
May 2020 — Indiana native Robert Ulibarrí has been named Saab’s general manager for its aerospace facility in Discovery Park District, where he will lead the advanced manufacturing and production for aerospace systems. The $37 million facility brings in a new era for Syracuse, New York-based Saab as it advances its U.S.-based advanced manufacturing and innovation through a research partnership with Purdue University’s world-leading aerospace engineering program.

Saab’s global defense and security company lands in Indiana, to open site near Purdue University
May 2019 — Global defense and security company Saab announced plans Wednesday (May 8) to locate a new U.S. manufacturing operation in Indiana. The facility, located at Discovery Park District Aerospace on the west side of the Purdue University campus, will support production of the U.S. Air Force’s next-generation T-X jet trainer and create up to 300 new jobs, with hiring starting in 2020.
