Restart computers, dock laptops and tablets tomorrow for software upgrade

All Physical Facilities, Service Enterprises and Environmental Health and Public Safety staff should restart their computers and dock CSDS-supported laptops and tablets at the end of their assigned shift tomorrow (March 2) for a scheduled Java upgrade to take place over the weekend.

Java 1.6 and 1.7 will be removed from all devices, and Java 1.8 will be installed during the maintenance window. Static versions of Java will also be re-installed on machines with applications that require it during this time.

Questions or issues should be conveyed to the ITaP Customer Service Center at (765) 494-4000 or itap@purdue.edu with a reference to the Java 1.8 upgrade.
