Pitch In, Purdue rollout continues across campus

Purdue’s new office cleaning initiative, Pitch In, Purdue, continues to roll out across campus, with buildings transitioning to the updated cleaning model in phases. The rollout began at the beginning of September and will continue through November, with buildings transitioning based on their assigned cleaning schedules.

As more buildings transition, campus employees play an important role in making the new model work. Under Pitch In, Purdue, building occupants are responsible for emptying their deskside waste and recycling into designated centralized waste stations. Building Services will continue cleaning shared spaces and providing other routine cleaning services. The updated model is designed to create a consistent approach to office cleaning across campus while helping Building Services focus resources on high-priority cleaning needs.

Not sure when to take your office waste to a centralized station? You don’t have to wait until your bin is completely full. Consider making a quick trip when your bin is getting full, when you’re already heading to another part of the building or when you’re leaving for the day. Food waste and other items that could create an odor should be taken to the appropriate centralized station sooner rather than later.

Each building has designated locations for centralized waste and recycling. Building Services is providing maps to help occupants locate the stations in their buildings. If you’re unsure where your building’s stations are located, check with your Building Deputy or visit the Pitch In, Purdue webpage for program information, frequently asked questions and rollout updates.
