Ariba’s change purchase order function available soon, training begins Sept. 16
Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 23, Ariba Guided Buying requisitioners will have new functionality to make changes to issued purchase orders (POs) and should register for upcoming training. An additional enhancement will allow individual PO lines to be closed rather than requiring the entire PO to be closed.
Change PO
Once a PO has been issued and is in an ordered status, requisitioners will be able to initiate certain changes directly in Ariba Guided Buying, including:
- Accounting changes
- General ledger (GL) updates
- Pricing corrections for non-catalog orders
- Changes requested by the supplier
Before initiating a PO change in Ariba Guided Buying, requisitioners should confirm that the supplier accepts PO changes and, when applicable, verify that pricing corrections can be accommodated. Other changes, such as changing a supplier or adjusting item quantities, require different processes. Instructions for each instance are available in the Make Changes to Purchase Order quick reference guide.
Training
Virtual training sessions will be offered multiple times during the weeks of Sept. 14, Sept. 21 and Sept. 28. Requisitioners and Purchasing Center staff should register for the course appropriate for their role:
Recorded training will be available at a later date.
Fiscal approvers do not need to complete training, as their overall responsibilities and approval processes remain the same. However, some PO changes may require reapproval. Fiscal approvers should review the updated Approving Requisitions in Ariba Guided Buying quick reference guide for information on identifying requisitions that require reapproval.
Close PO by Line
Also beginning Sept. 23, requisitioners will be able to close individual line items within a PO. This enhancement provides greater flexibility when some items on a PO are complete while others need to remain open. Step-by-step instructions are available in the new Close PO by Line quick reference guide.
