Airlines currently offering promotions for business travel
Two airlines are currently offering promotions for those traveling on university business.
American Airlines AAdvantage Gold Status
Purdue employees may be eligible for a limited-time offer from American Airlines to receive immediate AAdvantage Gold® status.
The AAdvantage Gold® Instant Status Pass™ promotion gives eligible travelers Gold status benefits for an initial four-month period. Travelers may keep or advance their status by earning qualifying Loyalty Points during the promotion.
This opportunity may be especially helpful for employees who do not currently have airline status and want access to travel benefits such as preferred seating, priority check-in and boarding, checked bag benefits and upgrade opportunities.
To participate, travelers must be AAdvantage members. Membership is free, and travelers should join before registering for the promotion. Travelers have until Oct. 23 to register.
Southwest Airlines A-List Status
Now through Oct. 31, Purdue employees can earn promotional A-List status plus 20,000 Rapid Rewards® bonus points, when flying for business. Simply register, then book through Concur or AAA Corporate Travel and fly qualifying flights.
How it works:
- Book and fly two qualifying round trip flights (four qualifying one-way flights): earn promotional A-List status valid through Dec. 31.
- Book and fly four qualifying round trip flights (eight qualifying one-way flights): earn promotional A-List status valid through Dec. 31 plus 20,000 Rapid Rewards bonus points.
- Subject to restrictions. See promotion Terms and Conditions on the registration page.
A-List Members enjoy exclusive perks, such as:
- One free checked bag
- Early boarding in Group 1
- The ability to select an available Preferred seat at booking
- The option to upgrade to an available Extra Legroom seat within 48 hours of departure at no extra cost
Those who already have A-List status can still earn the 20,000 Rapid Rewards points by flying four qualifying round trip flights (or eight qualifying one-way flights).
