Building Services to implement new office cleaning program, Pitch In, Purdue, across campus
Beginning in September, Building Services will launch Pitch In, Purdue, a new office cleaning program designed to create a more efficient and sustainable approach to workplace cleaning. Following a successful pilot earlier this year, the initiative will transition office cleaning services to a reduced frequency schedule, and building occupants will be responsible for emptying deskside waste and recycling into designated centralized waste stations.
This small change comes with big benefits such as improving operational efficiency, reducing operation costs and allowing Building Services staff to support the campus community through high-priority tasks. The program will roll out in phases through November, with buildings transitioning according to a scheduled timeline.
To help prepare for the transition, Building Deputies will share maps identifying the centralized waste station locations within their buildings so occupants know which stations are closest to their workspaces.
Additional information, including the rollout schedule by building, frequently asked questions and other program resources, are available on the Pitch In, Purdue webpage.
