Hourly and daily parking rates, citation fees to increase July 1
Rates for short-term parking locations will increase as of July 1 in West Lafayette and Indianapolis, while Purdue’s annual permit costs remain unchanged. (Purdue University photo.)
Short-term parking rates and citation fees will increase at the West Lafayette location, effective July 1. In Indianapolis, university ParkMobile rates will also increase. As announced in early May, there are no increases to Purdue’s annual faculty, staff and student parking permit costs for the 2026-27 academic year.
Rate changes affect those who use single-day, hourly and other short-term parking solutions.
In West Lafayette, locations with upcoming cost increases include:
- The Grant Street and Harrison Street parking garages. Hourly rates and daily maximum fees will increase for those who pull a ticket to enter.
- Non-gated parking garages and surface lots. Daily permit, visitor permit and university ParkMobile space rates will increase.
In Indianapolis, ParkMobile rates will increase in these parking lots only:
- 501 Indiana Ave., across from the Student Center
- 401 W. Michigan St., located at the southwest corner of West Michigan Street and Indiana Avenue
Purdue’s parking system is fully self-funded with no central university general fund support. These increases are necessary to help cover continuously increasing operating costs and parking infrastructure needs, while aligning rates with the local market.
Sections of the Parking Operations website, Purdue’s parking portal, the ParkMobile system and onsite signage will be updated with new rates and fees soon.
