Recognizing our dedicated fire department on International Firefighters’ Day
The firefighters, paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) who make up the Purdue University Fire Department (PUFD) are integral to our campus community, delivering around-the clock emergency services. Monday (May 4) is International Firefighters’ Day, which provides the perfect opportunity to recognize these dedicated individuals.
Often the first to respond to fire-related incidents or medical emergencies across campus, they bring expertise and adaptability to any situation. In addition to emergency response, they provide educational opportunities and safety awareness for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
To learn more about a day in the life of a firefighter at Purdue University, please check out the featured video on the Administrative Operations website.
If you have the opportunity on or around May 4, take time to thank our firefighters, paramedics and EMTs. We are ever grateful for all they do to support and protect the Boilermaker family.
Sincerely,
Jay Wasson, Vice President for Physical Facilities and Chief Public Safety Officer
