Action requested: Campus access control review
Building Deputies who attended the recent meeting received an update on a campus-wide effort to evaluate current access control practices and develop a more consistent approach to governance, policy and systems. With direct, day-to-day insight into how access is managed within campus facilities, deputies play a critical role in ensuring this effort reflects real operational needs.
As part of this process, Building Deputies are asked to complete a questionnaire and submit any existing documentation related to access control. The questionnaire will gather information on current practices for managing physical keys and electronic/card access, as well as existing processes, challenges and gaps and any written directives, procedures or policies.
If documentation is available, it should be uploaded to the designated Teams channel. Only existing materials should be submitted- there is no need to create new documentation. If documentation is not available for a specific area, no action is required for that item.
All questionnaire responses and documentation are due by May 8. Participation is critical to developing an accurate and comprehensive understanding of access control practices across campus.
