Microsoft MFA to replace Duo for Purdue login
Purdue University will transition to Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on May 29, 2026, replacing Duo as the primary authentication method for most systems. This update is designed to simplify the login experience while enhancing account security across university services.
After the transition, users signing in through Purdue’s single sign-on (SSO) system will authenticate using Microsoft MFA. Those currently using Duo will no longer need the Duo Mobile app for most Purdue applications, and existing Duo tokens will no longer function.
Users are encouraged to enroll in Microsoft MFA ahead of the transition to ensure continued access to Purdue systems. While most services will move to Microsoft MFA, some applications, such as those associated with Purdue Global and select systems, will continue to use Duo.
