Marking a monumental day for the university, Purdue’s groundbreaking new urban extension in Indianapolis launches July 1

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. —

Purdue University is launching its new extension in Indianapolis today (July 1), with the opening of Purdue University in Indianapolis.

The comprehensive urban campus is Purdue’s portion of the former Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), a 55-year collaboration between Purdue and Indiana University in the state’s capital city that has now formally ended. Purdue University in Indianapolis will create an innovative, STEM-based collegiate experience by connecting future-ready Purdue students and faculty in Indianapolis to local businesses to accelerate Indiana’s STEM pipeline and tech ecosystem, fueling impact for central Indiana and the world.
