Ukrainian Student Association donation drive set for Sunday

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Ukrainian Student Association of Purdue will hold a collection drive 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday (March 6)  to receive donations of medical supplies and other needed items to be sent to family and others in Ukraine.

Donations will be accepted at the north end of the Purdue Armory during that time. Enter off of University Street to the parking lot on the north side of the armory.

Ksenia Lewyckyj, president of the Ukrainian Student Association, lists the items below that have are most needed by her contacts in Ukraine:

 

Humanitarian relief

  • Nonperishable food – (currently a big demand)
  • Blankets and bedding
  • Candles
  • Containers for liquids (canisters for water, fuel, lubricants with capacity of 10-20 liters)
  • Disposable utensils and tableware 
  • Drones
  • First-aid kits
  • Generators
  • GPS
  • Hygiene products (women’s sanitary products, diapers, etc.)  
  • New clothing and footwear for men/women/children  
  • Protective military gear (helmets, bulletproof vests, tactical backpacks, boots, gloves, dry rations)
  • Satellite phones
  • Standalone lamps
  • Tents, mattresses, sleeping bags 
  • Thermal underwear 
  • Walkie-Talkies
