Appointments, honors and activities

  • Faculty and staff honors:

- Kathleen Abrahamson, an associate professor in Purdue’s School of Nursing, has been selected as a distinguished nurse leader by the American Academy of Nursing and will be inducted as a fellow of the academy in October. The American Academy of Nursing serves the public and the nursing profession by advancing health policy and practice through the generation, synthesis, and dissemination of nursing knowledge. The academy's more than 2,600 fellows are nursing's most accomplished leaders in education, management, practice and research. They have been recognized for their extraordinary contributions to nursing and health care. The School of Nursing is part of the College of Health and Human Sciences.

- Vicki Simpson and Zach Hass are recipients of the 2019 Article of the Year award by Public Health Nursing. Simpson and Hass are both assistant professors in Purdue’s School of Nursing. Their article, “Individual Health Outcomes Secondary to a Nurse-led Coalition-based Health Promotion Program for Underserved Diverse Populations,” was published in 2019. The School of Nursing is part of the College of Health and Human Sciences.
