Thumbs Up

"Thumbs Up" gives faculty and staff the chance to recognize others on campus for a job well done.

This week's "Thumbs Up" go to:

Horizons Student Support Services staff

Horizons Student Support Services: Thanks to the Horizons Student Support Services team for a wonderful semester! We were able to do great things with our students because of everyone's hard work and dedication to our program. Love working with you all! – Jessica Weller (Student Success)

Patty Turner

Patty Turner (Materials Management Distribution): Thank you, Patty! You are always so prompt and kind in responding to shipping issues. Your guidance and knowledge are excellent. – Christine Reidy (Bindley Bioscience Center)

Oral English Proficiency Program liaisons

Oral English Proficiency Program liaisons: We would like to thank all of the OEPP liaisons in each department on campus. We appreciate all your hard work during the semester working with the grad students who take the OEPT and the ENGL 620 course. We couldn't do our jobs without your support. Thank you! – Rochelle Hines and April Fidler (both College of Liberal Arts administration)

Paige Ebner

Paige Ebner (Sociology): Paige was instrumental in helping to move IT equipment from Hanley to be placed in Stone or storage in Beering. She really went above and beyond in a successful move/transition! – Purdue IT CLA division

Candace Shaffer and Alexis Slate

Candace Shaffer and Alexis Slate (Human Resources): As a parent of two, I've long been tremendously grateful for the child care and other family-friendly resources that Purdue offers, whose availability and quality are largely made possible by the incredible efforts of Candace and Alexis in Human Resources. They've been wonderful partners who listen energetically, partner with parents enthusiastically and effect change howsoever possible. Their efforts led directly to the expansion of child care in our area, in improving our tools for monitoring the quality of air that our children breathed when our center had construction nearby, and ensuring a smooth transition to an exciting new contractor to support the caregivers for our children. I'm so grateful for their efforts and for their kind generosity. – Ted Fondak (College of Education administration)

Individuals involved with Purdue United Way campaign

Individuals involved with Purdue United Way campaign: Thank you to Lauren Stearns (Purdue Memorial Union), Kristy Smith (Administrative Services), Brian Wallar (Operations and Maintenance), Tim Jones (Building Services), Brian Gilbert (Real Estate) and Mike Munday (Building Services) for leading a successful United Way campaign! Your leadership made a difference and offered hope and help to the community. You are modeling the way for Administrative Operations! – Brandi Jittjumnongk (Administrative Services)
