Howard Fooksman

Howard Fooksman (IT Teaching and Learning Technologies) and Laura Miller (Teaching Success): I wanted to try Gradescope on a quiz and an exam before committing to it for Spring 2020. Gradescope surpassed our expectations. We spent less than two hours grading 200 organic exams with long and short answers and structures. In the past, it would take us four hours! The four hours does not include the additional time spent sorting and returning papers. The feedback the students receive is more detailed and much more consistent. I could not have done this without the help of Howard and Laura. Laura taught me how to scan and upload into Gradescope. Laura and Instructional Data Processing did an excellent job quickly digitizing our exam. Howard coached us through grading our first quiz, responded quickly to questions and was available when my staff of 10 graded our first exam.
