Recipients named for 2023 Purdue University Online, Office of the Provost Online Excellence Awards

Purdue University Online and the Office of the Provost have announced the recipients of the 2023 Online Excellence Awards.

The awards are intended to recognize professional accomplishment and to promote creative and effective approaches to learning delivered via digital education media. The awards are accompanied by a cash payment ($2,500 per award, split between multiple team members where applicable).

Here are the 2023 recipients:

* Cuneyt Altinoz, professor, School of Business and Information Technology, Purdue Global, received the Excellence in Online Course Design and Delivery (Credit) award for the course GB 513 (Business Analytics).

* Damian Fleming, associate professor, Department of English and Linguistics, Fort Wayne, and Rachel Ramsey, instructional consultant and designer, CELT, Fort Wayne, received the Excellence in Online Course Design and Delivery (Credit) award for the course CLCS 205 (Classical Mythology).

* Julius Keller, associate professor, School of Aviation and Transportation Technology, West Lafayette; Alexus Maschinot, senior instructional designer, Purdue University Online, West Lafayette; and Vincent Hornbach, senior video production specialist, Purdue University Online, West Lafayette, received the Excellence in Online Course Design and Delivery (Non-Credit) for Aviation Fatigue Training.

* Adrie Koehler, associate professor, Curriculum and Instruction, West Lafayette, received the Scholarship of Online Teaching and Learning award for her contribution to the article “Examining students’ use of online case-based discussions to support problem solving: Considering individual and collaborative experiences.” 

* Kharon Grimmet, clinical associate professor, special education, West Lafayette; Kadir Kozan, research associate, Educational Studies, West Lafayette; Angie Holtsclaw, clinical instructor, special education, West Lafayette; Adrie Koehler, associate professor, Curriculum and Instruction, West Lafayette; and Daniela Vilarinho Rezende Pereira, graduate assistant, learning design and technology, Curriculum and Instruction, West Lafayette, received the Innovative Online Use of Technology (Credit) award for the Mentor and Induction Program.
