CILMAR accepting applications for intercultural learning grants
The Center for Intercultural Learning, Mentorship, Assessment and Research (CILMAR) is offering three grant opportunities for West Lafayette faculty and staff to support the planning and facilitation of intercultural learning.
Intercultural Pedagogy Grant (IPG) training program
The IPG training program is designed for faculty and staff interested in embedding intercultural competence in curricular and co-curricular spaces, including in-person study abroad and study away programs, virtual exchange programs and online international collaborations, on-campus courses and programs, and remote and distance learning courses.
Participants will receive pedagogical training in curriculum design and intercultural learning facilitation, as well as $2,000 in discretionary funding.
The IPG program fulfills training requirements for the following grant programs:
- Study Abroad/Study Away Intercultural Learning (SAIL) grant
- Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) grant
- Virtual Experiential Intercultural Learning (VEIL) grant
Daniel Jones, CILMAR senior intercultural learning specialist and program administrator, will contact applicants to set up a brief meeting prior to acceptance. Early submission of applications is appreciated and will allow for more flexibility in scheduling.

Virtual Experiential Intercultural Learning (VEIL) grant
This program provides incentive funding to program leaders who have developed a virtual exchange component as part of a course or program that incorporates a partnership with a peer institution.
Grant applicants must have successfully completed the IPG program.
