Purdue to celebrate early-career faculty awardees with annual March event

President Mung Chiang, Provost Patrick Wolfe and EVP Research Karen Plaut have announced and will host a new annual celebration of Purdue faculty members who have received Early Career Awards from various federal agencies in the previous year.

The inaugural 2023 event will take place from 4-6 p.m. March 20 at Purdue Memorial Union's East and West Faculty Lounges. Faculty, staff and students interested in attending should RSVP here.

Faculty being recognized have received competitive Early Career Awards, including National Science Foundation's Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Awards and similar awards from other funding agencies. The dean of each college will recognize the awardees along with the heads of schools or departments where the faculty have appointments.

Following the recognition ceremony, a panel of faculty colleagues who have received multiple such awards in recent years will discuss their advice on how to write successful proposals to these programs.

All assistant professors are strongly encouraged to attend.
