Community invited to Lunar New Year celebration on Saturday

The Purdue University Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center (AAARCC) will celebrate the Lunar New Year with a community celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 28) at the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center’s Black and Gold Gyms, 1-3.

The event will include tabling activities from campus and community partners and student organizations, food and performances. Performances and demonstrations will be provided by the AAARCC Lion Dance Team, Purdue Chinese Performing Art Troupe, VariAsian Dance Group, NewGen dance group, Okinawa Yuyukai and the Purdue Karate Club.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the Chinese Studies program and the Student Fee Activity Board. Parking will be available at the recreational sports center. Guests who do not have a Co-Rec pass should enter through the northwest entrance. The southeast entrance will be accessible only to those with a pass.
