Daniels, Chiang meet with members of Iranian Cultural Club

President Mitch Daniels and President-Elect Mung Chiang met with members of the Iranian Cultural Club on Monday (Nov. 28). The group had reached out to the President’s Office on behalf of all Iranian students, faculty and staff seeking to discuss the situation in Iran, where the ruling regime has been violently suppressing protesters and students for nearly two months. The group shared their concerns for the safety of their family and friends in Iran.

The ICC is also hosting a Campus Rally for Iran today (Nov. 30) at Krach Leadership Center. The event will focus on the Woman Life Freedom Movement and will have two sessions(5:30-6:30 p.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m.) featuring a statement from the group, videos and reenactments of tragic incidents. Similar rallies will occur at more than 100 universities around the world. The campus community is encouraged to attend to show its support.
