Community invited to join Host-A-Boiler during Thanksgiving and winter breaks

Purdue is home away from home to more than 10,000 international students and scholars from around the world. During the upcoming holiday season, heading back to their home countries for an extended academic break is not a feasible option for many. To remain on campus during breaks is often viewed as a lonely alternative.

The Host-A-Boiler program, now in its 10th year, was created to provide a family experience for international students and scholars by pairing them with volunteer hosts - Purdue faculty and staff, domestic students with families, and others living in the Greater Lafayette area.

Participants sign up for a one-time get-together during either Thanksgiving or winter break. For hosts, it’s an opportunity to celebrate special holiday times with some new friends from different cultural backgrounds.

More information about the program is available in a posted PDF. Sign up to be a host online.

The deadline to sign up for a Thanksgiving get-together is Nov. 15. Sign up for winter break by Dec. 12.
