Purdue United Way campaign to kick off Wednesday

Purdue's 2022 United Way campaign will kick off Wednesday (Sept. 14) with the goal of raising $725,000 for local agencies in need. The campaign ends Nov. 16.

Linda Mason, dean of the Graduate School, is this year’s campaign chair and Beth McNeil, dean of Libraries and School of Information Studies, is the vice chair.

The campaign kickoff will take place at 11:30 a.m. on the south end of Purdue Mall. Members of the campus community are invited to celebrate the kickoff and are encouraged to wear their Live United apparel. Lunch will be available for purchase for $11 (cash or card) before the kickoff starts at 11:30 or after it concludes at 1 p.m. A $1 donation will be made to United Way with every lunch purchased.

“As we slowly emerge from the pandemic, supporting our United Way partners is even more important to our global campus and local community,” Mason said.  “I am very excited for the Purdue campaign kickoff and hope that individuals that are in a better position can give just a little bit more this year. If you are new to the campaign, no contribution is too small. Together we can have enormous impact.”
