Faculty, staff parking permits available for 2022-23, temporary accommodations planned for gated garage access

Annual, monthly and daily parking permits are now available to purchase online for the coming academic year for those who have no outstanding parking citations. Parking and Transportation Services is offering the same permit options as last year, and all prices remain unchanged:

  • Annual “A” ($250) and “B” ($100) parking permits
  • Monthly “A” ($30) and “B” ($15) parking permits
  • Daily parking permits ($5)

Current annual parking permits expire on Aug. 15, 2022, and individuals are encouraged to purchase a new permit in advance. New annual permits will be valid through Aug. 15, 2023.

Monthly and daily parking permits cannot be used in the Grant Street or Harrison Street parking garages. Additional information about all parking permit options is available on the Parking and Transportation Services website.

New Garage Access Cards for annual “A” permits for the upcoming academic year are delayed. As a result, current 2021-22 Garage Access Cards will continue to allow access to the Grant Street and Harrison Street parking garages until new cards arrive and are issued to annual “A” permit purchasers through campus mail. The permit holder must scan the Garage Access Card to enter and exit one of the gated garages, as access will not be granted by license plates.

Permit holders who take tickets to enter the gated parking garages instead of scanning a Garage Access Card must pay hourly fees prior to exiting or a lost ticket fee of $50 will be assessed. Fees for hourly and lost tickets are nonrefundable. This temporary extension of the Garage Access Card does not grant parking eligibility in locations other than gated garages. Parking in nongated garages or in surface lots after Aug. 15, 2022, will require the purchase of a 2022-23 “A” permit, and enforcement in those locations will be based on the vehicle’s registered license plate.

Individuals who are purchasing an annual “A” permit for the first time will not have access to either of the gated garages until Garage Access Cards are received and issued through campus mail. Faculty and staff may park in nongated garages or in surface lots using their vehicle’s license plate for enforcement.

Parking permits may be purchased throughout the year if working location assignments change. However, no prorated refunds for annual permits paid in full will be given after March 1, 2023. Requests to cancel payroll deduction payments must be made prior to May 1, 2023.

Individuals who previously purchased an annual, monthly or daily University parking permit during the 2021-22 academic year were recently sent an email with additional information from Parking and Transportation Services.

Please be aware that campus parking may be restricted at any time and for any reason. The Northwestern Avenue and University Street parking garages are designated parking locations for attendees of major athletic events and may result in parking restrictions for permit holders.

Parking and permit questions should be directed to Parking and Transportation Services from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 765-494-9497 or parking@purdue.edu. Questions related to accessible parking for people with disabilities should be directed to Susan Black, senior manager of Parking Services, at seblack2@purdue.edu or 765-494-9493.
