Recipients named for 2022 Online Excellence Awards

Purdue Online and the Office of the Provost have announced the recipients of the 2022 Online Excellence Awards.

The awards are intended to recognize professional accomplishment and to promote creative and effective approaches to learning delivered via digital education media. The awards are accompanied by a certificate and a $2,500 cash payment.

The 2022 recipients are:

* Worth Weller, senior lecturer, English, Fort Wayne; Xiaokai (Katie) Jia, CELT associate director and instructional designer, Fort Wayne; and Rachel Ramsey, CELT instructional consultant, Fort Wayne, received the Excellence in Online Course Design and Teaching (Credit) award for the course ENGL 23301 Intermediate Expository Writing.

* Eric de Araujo, senior instructional designer, Purdue Online, and overload instructor, Department of Philosophy, West Lafayette, received the Excellence in Online Course Design and Teaching (Credit) award for the course PHIL 11000 The Big Questions: Introduction to Philosophy.

* Daniel Guberman, senior instructional developer, CIE, and provost fellow, Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, West Lafayette, received the Scholarship of Online Teaching and Learning award for his article, "Student Perceptions of an Online Ungraded Course."

* Mary Elizabeth Encabo, continuing lecturer, English and Linguistics, Fort Wayne, received the Innovative Online Course Design and Use of Technology award for the English Language Partners Program.
